Digital Health Summer Schools - Hack Days 2019

Summer Schools Hack Days 2019

Leeds, 17 – 18 July 2019

SUMMER SCHOOLS HACK DAYS 2019

Dates: 17-18 July 2019, 9:00 to 17:00 approximately
Venue: University of Leeds

Ticket is free and includes: Hack Days attendance on both days with refreshments. Accommodation is not included.

The Summer Schools Hack Days, 17-18 July, will bring current NHS digital leaders, patients, clinicians, developers and NHS technology teams together with digital health innovators and disruptors to test and prove new ideas, develop working prototypes and create solutions to some of the NHS’ most pressing issues.

The Hack Days will start with timed two minute ‘pitches’ of project ideas and problems that need solving. After the pitches, participants self-organise themselves organically into project teams and work on building real working solutions to these problems, using their design skills, clinical insights, patient experiences, development skills, and best technology. Open source solutions are encouraged but not mandatory.

Projects developed at the Summer Schools Hack Days will be presented to the Summer School audience at the end of Day Two of the Hack Days (which overlaps with day one of the Summer Schools), 18 July, and delegates will have a chance to meet the teams with a community vote on the best project.

The event is open to CCIOs, CIOs, CNIOs, AHPs, patients, clinicians, developers, and anyone with an interest in healthcare technology, and in how it can support integration across the health and care system. We encourage individuals to bring their development teams along to help to disrupt the future of digital health.

Summer Schools Hack Days is a Summer Schools fringe event, organised by Digital Health and hacktivist-in-chief Dr Marcus Baw. Marcus will again be managing the event and providing support and encouragement to teams.

All participants in the Hack Days are invited to the opening Summer Schools social event on the evening of 18 July.
